Western Marine Engineering was established in 1983 at Kochi, Kerala, India which is one of the major ports in the Arabian Sea having two port terminals as Kochi Port old terminal & Vallarpadam container terminal. Company has its Branch office at Goa.

Over a time spanning more than four decades, the company has developed varied expertise in all facets of repairs and maintenance onboard ships, boats and other marine support platforms.  It also builds boats, barges and dredgers of limited displacement, both under classification rules and specific requirements of the customer. The managerial and supervisory staff  of the company comprising of engineers and  diploma holders possess the requisite qualification and experience and the work force comprising of welders, fitters, electricians, machinist, etc are highly skilled in their areas of expertise.  The company has a fully equipped workshop and a dry dock facility ( 60 mx12 mx08 m ) at Goa. In addition the company regularly hires the dry dock/ slipway facility available with government and private organisations at various ports. The company has been providing single window professional assistance to various private agencies and  major defence organisations such as the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and Goa Shipyard Limited.
